Hi, can we use the electronic ECA from CES instead of the official one for express entry? How long is the unofficial electronic copy valid for?

Hello All,
I got the report from CES. My details and timeline below:

University - Anna University
Place - Chennai
Degree Studied - MBA (Technology Management)
Nature - Part Time/Distance Education
Length - 2 Years

Timeline:
Transcripts Reached CES office - Dec 11, 2019
Date Document uploaded in their system - Jan 25
First two steps done - March 21
Third step - July 26
Final Stop - July 30
ECA report - July 31

ECA - Masters Equivalency from a recognized University

No one explained to me if CES would equate a Masters's degree in India as Masters in Canada but I got Masters equivalency.

At the same time, a friend of mine who completed a "Master of management studies" from Mumbai University, was awarded "bachelor's equivalency".
One thing is for sure. If your certificate reads MBA and if your University/Institution is under UGC, go with CES. Else do not go. MCAs, MAs, MSCs, and others (Except MBA) are advised not to go with CES.

Hope this helps people

Cheers
Ajay

Does anyone has an idea as to how long it takes for the application status to change? I completed my application almost a month ago and still not even the first step, initial review has started.

In total, might take around 5 to 6 months

Hi, my advice is that if you're considering to evaluate through CES, do not undergo same. I had my wife's LLB degree evaluated by CES and the report was given as Four Years Bachelor's Degree. I have emailed them explaining to them that a law degree is considered as a professional degree even on the CIC website and i am yet to receive a response from them.

The reason why i went with CES evaluation was because i met an individual from Brazil who evaluated his law degree with CES and same was evaluated as a professional degree required to practice in a license profession. I was hoping that this would also be the case, but it turned out worse. It appears that this agencies have biased report for certain countries, because how can a degree from Brazil for law and that from Nigeria for law be classified differently.

It appears you dropped this message since January, so i hope you've not started the process yet. All the best.

Hi,
Were you able to get "professional degree" evaluation from any other institute, like ICAS etc?
I have sent my LLB degree for evaluation to CES and ICAS both.

Hi, have you sent electronic transcript through your university or they evaluate from the hard copy you sent?
Thanks

Hello Guys, really appreciate your help on the below queries

1. My degree says PGDM - Will IQAS assess it as masters degree ?

2. If yes, How long may the IQAS processing time take (given the pandemic situation)?

3. My WES report considers my 2yr PGDM degree as 1yr Canadian equivalent diploma; However, I heard that if we submit AIU certificate along with transcripts , WES might consider it as masters program. Does anyone know about this ?

Hi,

I received an email saying that my ECA Report is ready and that I need to check for Email from DocuSign. Did it work the same way for you ? How long did it take for you ?

Regards

Hi All,

What are the current processing times for getting a result from CES if all documents are sent electronically.?

Hi guys, has CES resumed work from office and started evaluating hard copy of transcripts couriered to them? My college doesn’t send online transcripts. I had couriered my transcripts in June but no update from Ces yet.

I got an email from them that a limited number of their staff is back at the uni & it will take some time to go through what they say are thousands of documents sent via mail since the offices were closed. Its a positive sign for sure. But there will still be a long delay.

Hi, Congratulations for your assessment. Just wanted to ask I've done my MA from Annamalai University, do you think i should go with CES for its masters evaluation? As i've not heard good feedback for IQAS regarding the same.
your time and help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Mahima

If your UG is 4 years and this MBA is of 2 years, it is fine
If your UG is of 3 years, I really doubt if you will get Masters Equivalency
By the way, did the university sent your docs or you did it by yourself?
