ECA - Does Diploma need to be evaluated if I've M.Tech & BE.

Hi,

I did M.Tech (2yrs) & BE (3yrs) from India after my Diploma (2yrs). Do I need to include my Diploma mark lists for Education Credentials evaluation? or Should I just submit for M.Tech & B.E evaluation? Your suggestions pls.

AFAIK, only the highest qualification is enough to be assessed. In your case just M.Tech.

To be on the safe side, I would recommend you send documents pertaining to both your Masters and Bachelors. Diploma will ,most probably, not be required.

definitely both, don't send Masters alone!! You might end up getting just 21 points, sending both still can get you 22, this is if you don't get a Masters equivalent for your Masters, if you get then obviously it'll be a 23!! good luck!!

Hey happy16, I did my masters from IIT Madras, India. I have sent only my Master's degree to WES. I am expecting the report in 3 weeks. What should I do? Shall I wait or make arrangements to send my bachelor's degree too?

Hi,

I did diploma, Engineering then M.Tech.

I got my WES report. Just send transcripts for Bachelors and Masters. Don't send Masters ONLY.

Transcripts for Diploma are NOT really required.If you have them ready, you can include.

I think you should be fine. It will be a real shame if WES needs to evaluate your Bachelors Degree in order to award you points for a Masters Degree that was completed from an IIT. I expect them to know this much.

Though my concern with sending Masters alone is that WES often evaluates Masters as equivalent to "Bachelors Degree 4 years" which will give you only 21 points for FSW but with Bachelor's evaluated as well, it gives you 2 Bachelor's Degree equivalency which gives you atleast 22 points

haven't been able to figure out in which cases/criteria it gives equivalent of Masters to few Masters and BD 4 yrs in others!! Hopefully IIT should atleast get an equivalency of a Masters & you get 23 points!!

Yes, I understand. Its just that it would be ridiculous in my opinion if his masters is evaluated at anything less than a Canadian Masters, with or without the Bachelors evaluation, considering that it has been awarded by an IIT.
