Early pick up PR card at local offoce？？？

Hello,

My husband' PR card renewal was finally apploved and now need to pick up at local office on May...... We have travel in April and I wonder if it's possible to pick it up earlier by just visiting the local office.

People have been successful in picking their PR cards up early. I would give it a go. Worst case scenario they'll tell you no and ask you to come back on your appointment date.

Thank you for your reply.

My husband is waiting for his pickup letter from local office.

About a week ago, he called CIC processing center and the agent told him that local office put appointment on May (after our travel!!!!!!!!) and the letter is coming soon, however no news from mail box yet.
We are traveling in next week.

Do you think it's OK to visit local office without letter ???

I called CIC this afternoon twice, both agents told me that we are not able to visit the local office other than appointment date....... Our office is Hamilton ON.

Anyway, we decided to walk-in this coming Wednesday since our flight is on Saturday

I will post how it will go.

For the anybody who wants any info regarding early pickup PR card

What I found by browsing the website,


St Clair office in Toronto, they accept walk in 5 days before travel with the proof of air tickets and payment

Vancouver office, They do 2 days before travel with the proof of air tickets and payment.


Every office have different policy regarding early pickup.

My office is Hamilton, I will post the info after this Wed or Thursday.

Update

My husband called CIC this morning and the agent sent e-mail to local office.

This afternoon, he got call from local office and he was told he can pickup my PR card tomorrow.

We are so relieved now that we can travel.

Which phone number u are taking to, as when we call the call center agents don't answer any thing more then that it is in process, could u suggest how to reach some one other than agents to know the status.

I only called CIC 1-800..

They can tell us only something happened after "in process" like went to further review or etc...
