E-cas tracker update email: did anyone else just get a spurious one?

matthew.can u pls tell us when u collect information like Client ID# date of birth. place of birth. receipt number. immigration file# all these things.

where do u store them?

how secure is ur computer?

The pirated software comment leads me to think you're a troll. I don't use pirated software. I use free software e.g. ubuntu linux, open office, firefox, and evolution mail.

The main page of the e-CAS site is very clear, written intentionally so you can understand it. A typical microsoft EULA is the exact opposite.

If you bothered to actually read what I quoted above ("What happens to my information?") you'd know that all the tracker details are stored in a database on a server I manage. It is not stored on a personal computer. I would not be at all surprised if the server in question, at Hetzner, actually has better physical security than CIC's servers:

Edit: it looks like joe deleted the post about pirating software I've quoted above. Typical troll behaviour. Anyone who has genuine questions, please contact me directly, as I'm going to be ignoring joe from now on. I have more important things to do.

i am not discourgaing u from helping us out.but i am trying to say how secure is my info with u

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate your ecas tracker Matthew, thank you so much. It has meant that I get updates straight away when anything has changed, which is a real gift. You are a star!

Joe, leave it alone. You've said you aren't going to use it so stay out of it. He doesn't have to answer to you in offering a free service.

Matthew, pay little mind to his rantings.
 
ill probably get a lot of negative ratings but i really dont care! i agree with tgchi13....joecreosta why do you care if ur not planning on using Matthew's servicE???? u feel like people using the site are so " naiive" well i dont think im naive! he's not forcing u to use the service! i thought it was a very convenient.
 
This board was so nice and quiet for just a few short weeks, wonder what happened?
 
To each their own, but I won’t be using this only because I don’t know who Matthew is. For all I know he could be selling your info to someone for whatever reason. This is not to say that if he is or not but what do I know.

I mean come on how lazy can you be, it takes less then a min to login to CIC website to look at your status which I’m sure doesn’t change for ages.

Like someone said they are not “naïve” so do what is best for you.
