Dear Friends,

Regret could not write earlier than this.

See, if you ask me about my LANDING experience and the country 'Canada', then I can cheerfully say it was fabulous! No doubt about that. The people are unbelievably and extremely friendly there. No discrimination and no racism. And the best bonus is the sense of belonging to that country where you can breathe 'freedom'! It is worth the time we waited and struggled in anxiety. Thank God for the blessings! 8)

Will write later on about my landing experience at the YYZ airport in detail, which was very smooth and memorable.

Two lessons I learnt were :-(and this will be helpful to future immigrants) :

1) Keep and carry the ORIGINAL Invoices of Jewelry that you will be carrying with you whenever and this will be required at the Port of Exit (wherever you are).

2) It is a must that you have a ready evidence for Source of Funds or at least the Exchange/Bank receipt voucher for the CAD$/US $ you will be buying and carrying to CANADA. Because, as I learnt that they want to be sure that it is your own money and not laundered money. 8)

Luckily, I had both with me and that saved me from untold hassles. :)

Best Wishes,

Bestpal.

It needs a legal translation, to be done here by a Canadian Translator - who is approved by DriveTest Canada, and then it's acceptable. Many have done so.

Thanks a lot for the reply, Qorax. So a translation from a legal translator won't be accepted.

Will you happen to have a few names of DriveTest Canada approved translators in Dubai or Sharjah?
Much appreciated!

Thanks to All.

BIG BIG Thanks To bestpal

I have sent my Passport to London visa Office on 02/02/2013

It has to be done in Ontario-Canada... cannot be done overseas.

Not necessarily. Pls read below:
Dear Qorax,
Please clear one confusion,
After Visa stamp we need to stay 3 years out of 4 to apply for Canadian passport, BUT these 3 years will count from date of visa stamp or from date of landing ?

It's not after visa stamping... it's after u've "landed". The 'count' starts from the day u became a PR -- which is when u do ur "record of landing" at a Canadian port.
