Thanks for the information er2d2g...but what exactly is the benefit of this letter...would appreciate your response...thanks..

Hi

The experience letter is to fastrack the driving licence process in Canada. Without the experience letter ( more than 24 months driving experience) you need to start from scratch. With what I have read across forums and mainly advice from Qorax with the IDP and the letter I can attempt the G2 directly instead of the mandatory waiting period and can also attempt the G road test.

Trust that helps

Dear Seniors

I got my PR Card last year and I left Canada on 31 July 2011. Now I am going again for sometime on 14 June 2012. My question is "is my enterance to Canada is going to be smooth? Do I need to go thru immigration again? If someone asked when did you left Canada i will tell the date that I left which is 31 July 2011, do you think this will cause any problem or questions? My PR IS UP TO August 2016. Please give me advise to get prepared. Waiting for your kind reply
Thanks

U wouldn't have any probs in reEntering Canada. Yes, they may enquire ur absence, but once u state that u r now settling down u'd be free to go ahead. Relax!

Captain/Biju Gd Day we got the Driving letter experience from Sharjah RTO (Licence issued in Sharjah) for my wife which was in Arabic and also valid only for 45 days.Got it translated thru legal translator in english. Trust this is the right way to go Rgds Shanks

Hi,

We have seen cases where the translated copy had to be revalidated from the UAE consulate here. The English ones go smooth. Many translated ones too, but not all. If possible get a stamp from the Min. Of External Affairs over the translated copy (costs AED50, as I knew last), that could save u some addnl time once here.

Yep, that's right.
The LOA is a better option than the IDP/IDL... many DriveTest Canada centers may not accept the IDP/IDL but they will take the LOA.

However, if u intend driving a rented car till u obtain ur Canadian DL - u should get the IDP/IDL too. That'd allow u to drive for 60-days in Ontario, while 90-days in most other provinces.

Thank You Sir. will get the needful done. There was one more thing. I have some extra books and clothing over and above that was declared in GTF. Is it ok to ship them. Will there be any custom duty etc

Thanks Qorax, you are always sincere, nice and helpful.
Qorax --My plan is to settle next year. Shall I mention that to them if they question me? I will tell them I am still preparing for big move next year if they ask. do you think this is ok? or what do you advise me?

Usually they shouldn't mind, given both r used ones... However a finicky BSO might put a spoke. Unfortunately u'd have to take the plunge to know how it goes. Sorry for not being able to answer u sanguinely.

Hi Seniors/Gurus,

I have shuffled my funds for better returns. I hope this will not affect or complicate the process of Immigration.

Earlier I have funds in 3 banks & after that (6 months back) , I moved it to 1 bank further splitting in FD & so on.

Regards
Cool

Thanks every one for the wishes and Good luck to all.

Dear Shanks,

Hope you guys r good.
Pls donot translate the same in English from UAE as it is not accepted in Canada.
I had to go thru the same process in Sharjah and still had to get the letter translated from a Legal Translator in Mississauga for my license.
So plssss dont waste ur money in UAE. When you go to apply for DL in Canada, they will give you some names of Legal Translators.
Hope it helps.
