Finally got a job after trying 8 months, $ 10 K on local education , 50 phone interviews and 8 face to face interview , and it is not a survival job , never tried for a survival job , and the new job pays almost the same as i was getting in dubai, finally have settled,
Job market for new immigrants is very very very bad , all of you who plan to come to canada , specially to ontario , please plan financially , and have sufficient funds for at least 1 year , the govt guidelines of $ 16 k is very low in my opinion,
I will be willing to share my experience to anybody who needs it , please send me a personal message,
PS : unemployment rate for new immigrant is 18 % , amd of those employed qlmost 40 % are in survival job i.e. almost on min wages.

Hi All

Does anybody know a good car rental agency/website to get a deal on car rentals

What I have seen on the net is scary in terms of prices

I'm looking for a minivan/medium SUV for a month/4 weeks as it will help us in bringing stuff home as we settle down in out first month there post which we will buy a car

I was hoping to hire a car from YYZ itself to save on double renting cost

Any help would be appreciated

Thanx

rent a car is very expensive as it includes exorbitant insurance rates , you could try , budget , hertz or avis, they are the best , other option is try staying close to public transport , then you will not need car, plus there is the issue of driving license as well, best of luck

I studied numerous Job Discription in my profession, looked at all the linkedin profiles of the people working in canada in my job field,
Then made a list of key gaps in my skill set as what was required by jobs,
Then looked for industry designations and certification which would help me close those gaps,
I ended up doing a certification course from university of toronto ( it was a evening course ) and getting a designation from the top assosiation of my industry,
In the end i had a the cadillac profile and i was looking for Ford job , this to compensate for the lack of local experiance,
This is it

@cool,
you were given choice to submit PP or they asked to submit PP in AUH?
I dont think they are giving options,in my case my VO is ND so they wont give me option as AUH or ND.
If given,good enough.
