Now the biggest prob i have is they r asking for sealed envelop . Now prob is tht university has closed.... Now i have done notary on all docs.... But what shud i do with this sealed envelope issue

Hello Everyone,

Its been quite some time for me on this forum.

My medicals expired finally last week and still no PPR. But no worries. My number will also come soon. My CSI reply is that background checks are in progress and it can take several more months.

Just wanted to ask if I get CAIPS (or whatever they are called) notes, would that help in any way in terms of understanding where is the background check stuck or why is it taking such a long time?

CAIPS notes will not give details of BG check.....it will only show BG check in process or similar words

May be you should try ICAS which is also a recognized credential agency and lot more cooperative. Too may complaints about WES service quality. You don`t need to get into the hassle of sealed envelop etc with ICAS. Cheaper & faster. Check http://www.icascanada.ca/home.aspx

ICAS is taking 8 to 10 weeks for assessment, whereas WES is taking 1 week

The complaints you have shared is old one. After getting listed by CIC, there may be improvements

Going thru various WES threads, there are not much complaints

While I am planning and arranging stuff for my landing, I was wondering if anyone could help me the following:

PREPAID Mobile PHONE SIM CARD:
1. What will be the cheapest Prepaid Sim card that I can buy for my blackberry 9900 (unlocked).
2. Since it's my first landing and I would like to call back home asap , can I buy the prepaid Sim card @ Airport itself.
3. I will be visiting New York for @ weeks immediately after landing in Toronto, therefore I am looking for a Prepaid Sim card that will work well and cheap in USA as well. Please suggest.
4. If I run out of mobile phone credit in USA , is there a way that I can top up my phone with talk time their ?

Can someone help me by providing some details that when can I expect my Acknowledgement Receipt & the medical call as my permanent residence application was received on April 26, 2012 & they have started processing my application on January 23, 2013. I have already received confirmation mail from FSW-Centralized_Intake-Office @ cic.gc.ca Dated 03rd May 2012, stating my UCI & application number. They have also confirmed that they have received CAD 1,100/-Dated: 30th April 2012. Your earliest reply will be appreciated. Please note that have arrange employment as well. Also I would like to know that WES is compulsory for me?? Your earliest response in this regard will be appreciated!!
