Hi friends, well since you all are from Dubai, I am sure you are well aware of the tax free environment that we enjoy here. I have an issue pertaining to pay stubs. In the document checklist it mentions that

Additional supporting documents may include:

copies of work contracts, and

copies of pay stubs

However, i have my work experience from working with my father in his business, I therefore, never took salary through WPS so has to avoid the hassle. However, my father gives me a small amount of salary for my personal expenses through cash.

Now my question is how do I supplement instead of pay stubs ?

All suggestions are welcomed.
Even I havent got the pay stubs for the job I did 7 years back in Dubai. Pay stubs are not mandatory with application so even if you dont have them you can file your application. However, at later stage VO MAY ask for it as a proof of Paid employment...this solely depends on his /her discretion. But if you have some money coming in your account, perhaps you can explain your situation if at all VO asks about it at later stage.

Others may suggest as well, this is my understanding.

Thank you very appreciated. Did you submit your application without pay stubs as well ? did they approve it or reject the application ?

If this is your dad's business - what role are you in? Are you a partner or owner or a staff ? If you are a staff - do you have an employment contract?

Also - what is your chosen NOC ?

Yes it's my dad business. Apart from the local sponsor which is a rule in UAE my dad is the investor.
I am a staff, however I didn't prepare an employment contract because as I said it was my dad business and we didn't want to form such contracts. However I can prepare a backtrack employment contract.
I initially worked as an assistant accountant under my brother however since he migrated to UK I assumed the position of accountant.

Please advise.

Gratuity is paid at the time of exit - correct? Are you able to procure a proof of your current gratuity statement ?

Okay. What sort of time constraints are involved in en-cashing the gratuity? Do you know? If its transferred with your full and final settlement then you maybe able to use it but you are strongly recommended to explain it in a covering letter

- FSW Applications cannot be submitted online.
- You can arrange for and submit the application yourself and/or you can hire a consultant to help you out. Your call.
- The total turn around time for successful applicants is at least 12 months. This may vary based upon the VO.
- No idea about the job market itself but you first need to find the suitable NOC Code for him from the CIC site based upon his duties in his past and/or present job.

February 1st and Got PRC
Hi ALL YA' ALL,
I deadly need help in the following. Kindly help me about it. I got my PRC ( and so did ALL my family members) and did actually land in Toronto on the 2nd of February, 2013. Unfortunately, we had to get back to where we live for personal and familial reasons. When we landed we didn't take with us anything except the required landing funds which we took back with us. Now, we are planning to go there FOR GOOD. I was wondering if I could take my belongings with me (furniture, car and other stuff..etc.). We certainly need money to settle there, so if I take money with me, will it be taxable, especially that nobody asked me about it in our first landing, but of course I did mention it in the declaration docs we were given on the plane.
Dear Seniors, kindly give your advice.
Thanking you in advance.

Money brought into Canada is never taxable. You have to later declare all your income when you file your yearly taxes. Sometimes if you do not correctly declare the amount you brought in from outside, it could lead to red flags. However there are many tax consultants here who can help you (with about $30 to $100 fee) correctly declare that amount so you do not wind up paying any taxes on it.

In the declaration form (the one you get on the plane), you have to declare if you are carrying more then C$10,000 per passenger. So for example if you are 4 passengers you have to declare if you are carrying more then C$40,000.

If you are returning after 1 year, then for the rest of the items you will not pay tax on any item less then C$10,000 in value. For items over C$10,000 you will only pay taxes on that amount.

Regards,
