Remember you are not moving from one state to another state within US. You are going to a different country and it would be fair for them to ask some additional documents to issue a license. The good thing is, you don't have to start from the scratch.
I got one in CA too and be aware that the driving history printout they issue at DMV does not show the first day you were granted the license, it only shows the Issue date for the current license you have.
Not sure about yours. Mine had an original DL Issue date. I got mine in May 2018.
Agreed! I just got mine today and it goes back to almost a decade when my initial license was issued.
California stopped issuing 10 year history records in March 2019 and now they issue what they call a standard report however, issue is on this standard report, they show the issue date which unfortunately is only for the current valid license and not its entire history.

All they issue is standard report which lists convictions if any within the given period (which could be 10 year). My main concern is, on the report they have something called "Issue Date" for the license which shows only the most recent period and does not go back in time

They are too busy to provide services to law abiding residents. Their main focus is on how they can issue licenses to undocumented immigrants than simply provide what other states are doing and has been standard practice for long time. Even to get my license renewed I had to wait 3 hours after having appointment which was booked 3 months in advance. CA DMV folks are bunch of incompetent morons and given a choice I would never step a foot there again

You need Driver's Abstract from TX state where you have 6.5 yrs of driving history. Make sure that Abstract has issued date and expiry date. I just moved to canada and I am in process of exchanging my license in canada. Thanks

you can check check with TX DMV whether they have issued date and expiry date mentioned in Abstracts. I lived in 4 different state and 3 of them have issued & expiry date mentioned in Abstract. One state didn't have issued date but it had expiry date. you need to check with each state DMV where you lived in.
