Hi All,

Please help me answer this question under work history section, Date XYZ first became qualified to practice in this occupation..

Will this be the date when I joined my job for primary NOC or the date I completed my graduation?

Please note, my job is not a regulated one.

Thank You in advance!

I'm curious about this as well and wonder if there is grey area around it. If someone isn't qualified for the occupation, they likely wouldn't be hired into that occupation, so I used the date I was hired as the qualification date. (My job description stated a bachelors degree, but I was hired for it while completing my last semester for my Bachelors based on my 'hands on' experience with the company.)

For most people, the graduation date is when one becomes qualified to practice an occupation.

For foreign work experience it can even be earlier than the graduation date.

I am not satisfied with "An Answer". And I assume you should not have any issues since you do not have answer yourself.

I'd like to see what other members feel about this. Hence, bumped the query.

What does your noc code say? In the employment requirements section?

Does it say "completion of a degree in xxx is usually required"? If so, put the date you graduated.

No one here really knows when YOU became qualified as we have no idea on your history or noc code.

I am under category O which is manager. I have worked my way up after graduation to become a manager. Therefore, I plan to put the first date of employment as a manger.

I put my job start date here which is 5 months after graduation. I hope is it okay. Anyways this question seems insignificant from point calculation, so any date greater than graduation date (for skill level A) should be okay.

Hi DEEPCUR

I had started working even before completion of my Master's degree for NOC code 2174. While filling in the application, I have mentioned my start date of employment as March, 2016. I had graduated in Dec, 2015. But, I had actually started working in March,2015. The Experience letter from my Employer would also state as March, 2015. Is this going to be a problem? Will they consider my experience from March, 15 to Dec, 15 as apprenticeship and then consider the later part as actual exp. Please advise.

They will count as long as it was 30 hr/ week, and 5 days a week employment, and continuous for one year from that date. Also your education should not be Canadian education.

In my case I used my graduation date, however I started working on that NOC a few months before as well, during the last year of college....should I put the date when I started working then? I don't know what to do...
