Hi guys, I would like share this with you and see if someone help me. My husband was accepted as Protected Person on Dec 7th, 2021 but my kids and I weren't because of our dual citizenship. In parallel with my husband's Refugee Claim I had a Canadian Experience PR application. My PR application was approved on Dec 8th, 2021 (yes, the following day) and we all got the eCoPRs on Dec 13th, 2021. Now, my husband has two status: Protected Person and Permanent Resident (spouse). My kids and I were denied Protected Person status but we have eCoPRs. What should we do? Should my husband keep both status? Apply for the PR through Protected Person, including us as dependents? Will my kids and I be on the removal list since we were denied Protected Person status, even though we have our eCoPRs? All CIC offices are closed and no one can help me by the phone. I hope someone can help me. Thanks!

Your husband does not need to apply for Permanent Resident, he is already a Permanent Resident. You will not be removed from Canada because of the previous failed refugee application as you are a Permanent Resident. Your current resident status override previous ones, including that of your children. The only thing to take a note is that your husband has protected status but became PR as a spouse on your application through economic stream. You and the children can re-avail back to one of the country you faced persecution but i guess your husband can or cannot. Lets assume your husband re-avail, will the Minister request for cessation? lets assume they do and succeed, will your husband loose his PR from his economic stream? I guess he will still be a PR. Hello, my case is similar, but I just applied with CEC and we are waiting for response (very close now). My partner just had his hearing and his refugee claim was approved, what did you do next? Do I have to notify IRCC about his change in status?
That means your husband can not renew his home country passport or return to his home country until he is a Canadian citizen. I would send a webform updating your husband’s status. If he has bee approved for asylum there is less scrutiny about your relationship.
