Waouuu, congrats, that was realy fast...from this forum I can see that Damascus office is realy quick, maybe because they have a huge number of officer...
yalla good luck,
quite probable Rorita, last count....Damascus has 14 officers, and poor Cairo only has 5 :(. If Cairo processes 185,000 applications alone, I would hate to fathom how many Syria processes.....

how are you doing by the way? :)

s'lam Rasha

How can you find out the number of officers that a visa office has? Just curious to know how many London has.

Very many congratulations! Thank you for sharing your story. Just last night, after applying for my wife ,almost 15 months ago, she recieved a letter for an interview in Bogota, Colombia for Nov.10...We are both in shock I am sure, but we did not send a lot of evidence, therefore, we will be scrambling trying to gather more material. So, that is really encouraging that just having "tons" of material, may not all be needed. I have to figure out why she is to bring some forms with her...imm0008egen, imm0008-1e,IMM5406E...Ijust glanced at papers she sent. My spanish isn't great,,but I thought they would have all these forms already..?

just so people that havent sent their applications yet are not mislead, I will post what I posted on another forum regarding this

I strongly encourage people to provide as much evidence as possible and to explain their situation as best as they can. I am sure anyone who has evidence will send it it. As we all prepared our packages, we were all scrambling around trying to find ANYTHING that could prove our situation. however, in my case, i had nothing in terms of emails/communication/photos etc because the relationship they referred to as 'relationship' in my case was approximately 3 days. I was extremely worried the whole time thinking i'll get rejected due to having no extra documents, so this was not meant, in any way, to encourage people to submit limited amount of evidence. always give them everything you can. in my case i gave them all that I could, which was not much due to circumstances.

each case is different, each IO is different, each visa office is different. so just because one person got approved/rejected, does not mean the same will happen to the next. I will post some more details to why this was smooth process just to give people better idea and not mislead them.

I am canadian guy sponsoring jordanian girl (much easier than if it was girl sponsor guy)
me and my wife are around the same age
we are from the same country/culture/religion
neither one is involved in any political issues of any kind
were both university graduates (not sure if it makes a diff but might be viewed as a credible person in the eyes of the IO)
I have a professional status (P.Eng) and me being unethical by committing fraud can completely destroy my career
and most importantly, i explained my case very well in the application (to why i didnt have a wedding and why we didnt have proof of how relationship developed

just do all that you can and sit back and tear your hair out (like i did) untill its done. There is nothing anyone can tell you that would make this process pleasant and make you worry less. this whole process sucks and we will all be nervous and worried regardless of how much/little proof we submit.

Good luck to all and have faith! keep fighting till you get to be with your loved ones!

Congratulations.... I'm back from my 8 weeks vacation with my hubby yuppie!!!!!
While I was in Lebanon I heard Damascus are doing their best to finish applications within 3 months so a lot of applications are approved.
One of my friend sponsored his wife 2 months ago and she already approved.
Good luck to all of you who still in process

Thanks marlena, glad to hear you got to see your hubby yuppie lol

I used to hate damascus, but after their speedy process (while I had sooo many doubts) I now like them,

they just really suck at replying to questions/emails/etc, but i can imagine they get many emails a day

And to think . . . if my husband was in Syria maybe his application would have been finalized by now!

We're stuck in background checks!

Is it the officers in the visa office that continue to keep sending it back for further checks . . . and further checks . . . and further checks . . . ??? Because as I understood from a conversation I had with the man that interviewed my husband, when the results come back the officers look over them to see what the results are and to see if they want to send it back for further checks (meaning that they see something in the results that they want more information on).
