Does work permit extension refusal, cancel the original work permit?

Hello, my work permit extension application has been refused because of not giving the biometrics(i haven't seen the email). I will be applying again but i want to find out if this cancels the original work permit as I still have 5 months on it. They put a note on the refusal saying

We also wish to advise you that your temporary resident status EXPIRED on 2024-11-28.
You may apply for restoration if, within 90 days from the expiry of your temporary resident status, you submit:
a completed application form; and et.

Please help if i am okay to work still with my original permit or it is canceled?

The rejection supersedes any previously approved applications unless explicitly noted in the rejection. You are currently out of status and cannot work.

How were you eligible to extend your permit? Doesn’t matter now because you cannot work, and out of status.
