Does US travel history increase your security wait time?

Hey guys,

I'm just trying to understand why my application is taking longer than everyone else and the only reason I can think of is my US travel. I didn't stay more than 6 months but I do have a travel history of about 5 months. Does anyone know if this causes a delay in PR application? CIC having to do some kinda background check in the US?
My AOR is Jan 31, CEC Inland and my status has been IP since Feb with no change at all.

I don't believe USA travel alone would cause a delay as info sharing with USA is a quick process. What matters is if you have been selected for security screening.

GCMS notes are helpful in understanding what is causing the delay.

I was wondering the same thing, as I have about 5 months US travel over a 10 year period. Additionally, I'm not sure I captured all trips, i tired to find all emails and receipts etc. So I am also worried about that.

Hmmm so are you also experiencing a delay in your application @canadacanada17 ? I ordered my gcms notes, hopefully I can see why mine has been delayed. I sent an email and got a response that my application is under review and requires additional verifications so I don't know what this means.

what's your country of nationality (aka your passport) ?
Have you worked for the govt before or been in the military ?

I am also waiting for security clearance. the cic agent said it hast not been started, rest everything is complete. I am cec inland. only travelled to dubai

Country of nationality is Nigeria. I don't have any govt work or military history.
