Hello everyone,
Has anyone in here applied for Elementary school and kindergarten teachers (NOC 4032)? Or do you have any idea whether the Bachelors in Education compulsory for it? My fiancee has Bachelors degree in Arts and has been teaching English for almost 4 years. If you do have any information or any suggestion, please leave a reply.

Hi there srekcahrai, what is below is the requirement for teaching in Ontario. I should point out a few things here, first our teacher's education has very high standards and it is very tough getting into the colleges of education. Second, we have "tons" of teachers who are unemployed and want a job; so you will be facing immense competition. Now I believe (guys correct me if I am wrong) regarding the BA that you would have to run it through WES to see what they will give you. Check the individual university for their specific institutional admittance rules. The 4 years of practical experiece will be evaluated when he apples to a universities college of education.

To teach in Ontario’s publicly funded schools, a teacher must be certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. Certified teachers pay an annual membership fee to maintain their membership and certification.

To be certified, teachers must:
  • have completed a minimum three-year postsecondary degree from an acceptable postsecondary institution
  • have successfully completed a four semester teacher education program
  • apply to the College for certification and pay the annual membership and registration fees.
