This looks good and all but I think folks should wait until someone on internet really get it through WES without any hiccups.

I am currently pushing the upgrad team to get this done but as usual no response as I have paid money and I have just completed the course.

BTW - have you prepped with your university degree transcripts? You'll need to submit both bachelors and PGD to WES. Also, the UGC approval is useful for us (do let us know when you get it) but pointless as it's all up to WES to determine equivalency and they can be finicky. The only way to know for sure is to get that equivalence from them.

I joined the course believing will that I'll get the transcript. My student mentor confirmed me via text they will provide. My course is ending in June 2020. Is there any min GPA needed for the process?.
Thanks everyone for keeping this thread alive

Don't need a minimum GPA for WES so long as you pass but you do need a minimum GPA to qualify for the PGD diploma from IIITB otherwise you'll only get a participation certificate. You'd want to check the program documentation they provided at the start of the program or ask your student mentor.

Hello everyone, our learners have applied and have received WES equivalency.
There are multiple learners who have used this to apply for PR status and move into a different country. So you should apply and get it assessed. Our learners receive an official transcript that can be used to apply.

Link to the program details are here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1alE10Tw0hmwaacvQRmv9opEC2bYBccdG/view?usp=sharing

Good to hear from Upgrad. What was the Canadian equivalency provided by WES for the PGD program?

It's this something anyone can get into by paying. There is no entrance test for these online courses and you simply get a certificate for finishing. I highly doubt wes will evaluate it as masters, and they should not.

Firstly, the master's entrance is not easy. You have to score a minimum GPA on their 1-year PG Diploma to qualify for the master's program. Secondly, the PGD program is intense with weekly assignments, projects and case studies and a pretty tough exam every 4-months and if you don't score a minimum GPA then you only get a certificate of participation in the PGD and not the diploma and you never make it to the masters. Third, Masters is research oriented and you have to submit a research dissertation to get through.

Both IIITB (for PGD) and Liverpool John Moores (for Masters) give you proper course credits and grades for each course.

I'm 6-months into the PGD and have a friend who's moved onto masters so let me know if you want to know more about the robustness of the program.

Are you talking about this?

Looks more like an advertisement promising pay hikes and degree for an online course. Their entrance criteria is a brief call with a few questions and anyone can get into them. I don't think this qualifies for a eca evaluation

I didn't say their entrance criteria was tough but that doesn't have any bearing on the ECA evaluation - it doesn't matter whether you made it through on donation or wrote a JEE exam or something else, WES will evaluate the program and the university's credentials only, not their marketing material or entrance criteria.

Ok, from what I've researched wes will evaluate this as a 1 yr diploma.

I have submitted the WES application and they are now waiting for the transcript to reach them. I think another couple of weeks and we will know the truth about it.

You will get in the program easily. You need to put in an effort of atleast 10-15hrs a week and you need to score 20%+ marks to get through the program else you will be marked for self paced learning.

They will provide the assistance for job opportunity, but ultimately you need to fight the battle. It is easier said than done.

I have had my degree evaluated from WES, they will consolidate the newly added credentials and generate report.

Curious to know what the IIITB transcript looks like. How many credits did they provide for the program?

The program is accessed across different sections of course and the credits are calculated as average. The total GPA is 4. How the transcript will look like will probably remain a mystery.

@mashkk13 , Please keep us posted about how much credits you are getting for Express Entry Score calculation.

@Himadri - that's straightforward. If the Canadian equivalency provided by WES is that of a post graduate diploma (1 year) then you get 32 points assuming you have already have a bachelors degree equivalent as well.
