Does Post Graduate Diploma course from IIIT banglore & Upgrad considered for Canada PR.

I am in the same boat as you guys. I am planning to pursue the dual credentials course by upgrad which will give me a Masters degree in Machine learning & AI from LJMU and a PGD from IIIT Bangalore. The question is will they get verified by WES. Does WES need some kind of police verification too for degree verification? Because then it would be impossible for me to go to UK to get a police verification.
Has anybody verified his/her foreign degree from Wes?

Hi, For WES verification, upGrad shall help with the process.
For the police verification part if any, it shall be at the address provided by you and not the University address.
WES considers Masters by LJMU equivalent to Canadian Masters.

Same confusion guys, I am in a fix whether I should go for the IIITB+LJMU masters with upgrad or not. I want to understand once you get the degree and you sent it for WES assessment , they will ask for transcript, now who will send the transcript, will it be IIITB or LJMU(If I just send the LJMU DEGREE ). I dont think LJMU will send any transcript as they have not taken any examination in the course . What is your say in this guys?

Hi, LJMU will send a transcript for the credential evaluation to WES after successful completion and attainment of degree. You can get in touch with your student mentor at the end of the course and they shall guide you about the process.

Thanks @navinball for your reply but my question is regarding the Master's Degree being offered by UpGrad and LJMU. I wanted to know if my Educational Equivalency would be of a Master's or not considering that I have a three year degree.

Does Upgrad PGDIPLOMA from IIITB actually help in getting the score up AND. Will IIITB/Upgrad provide a transcript required by WES

Hi Neelotpal, IIITB will provide a transcript and send it to WES for ECA. It shall add up to your education and hence, your score will be positively impacted for Immigration.

it's amazing to have all the members keep this thread alive. I am planning to pursue the PG Diploma in Data Science from IIIT-B. Would want to know what certifications are provided by IIIT-B post completion. I am aware of a pg diploma certificate that is provided. Also, do we get a transcript mentioning the credits allotted to each modules which can be sent to wes for accreditation. Or do we get a grade sheet along which mentions the cgpa. Would be really helpful if any one of the community members can share the same on the forum or whatsapp at 7892950882. Will also be seeking for referral.

Hi, IIIT-B provides a transcript with all the required details and they shall also help in sending it to WES. The logistics cost shall be borne by the learner.

Hey guys, I wanted to confirm to you all that I did get my WES evaluation for PGD ML&AI with Canadian equivalence of 1 year PGD and was able to add 32 points on my CRS profile (yay!). Here is some information that should be helpful to you.

1. Here is my evaluation - WES report.
   
   
2. The process for WES from IIIT-B is the best I've experienced so far. After you get your PGD result, make an online payment to IIIT-B (Rs 1000 currently) and then email them with payment confirmation and your WES ID. They will upload your transcript and your degree directly to the WES portal within a week and you will instantly get confirmation from WES about the upload.
   
   It then took WES ~ 2 weeks to give me the evaluation (remember to nudge WES by submitting the contact form on their site). Of course, I already had a WES evaluation for my Bachelors so that may have contributed to the speed but I believe in large parts it has to do with the fact that IIIT-B is directly uploading the transcript to WES so they know it's legit from day one.
   
   
3. I've heard that the credits for PGD Data Science have been dropped to ~24 credits for recent batches. Upgrad can confirm to you but keep in mind that this "might" put your WES evaluation at risk. That's because PGD in India is typically for 32 credits and anything less might give you a <1 year PGD evaluation which means you can't claim points in your CRS profile.
   
   If this is accurate, then PGD ML&AI is a safe bet as it is a 36 credit program.

Due to Current Pandemic Situation, my Certificate issuance was delayed.

My last exam completed in the month of march. But i received the certificate only in the month of August (Ideally they issue in less than two months of course completion).

5th Aug: Made the payment of Rs.1000 to IIITB and requested to upload the transcript.
12th Aug: Transcript is uploaded to WES Portal. Same day WES confirmed the receipt of Digital transcripts.
24th Aug: WES Evaluation complete.
