DOES MY PASSPORT HAVE TO VALID FOR NEXT FOURS YEARS TO GET VISA?

Hey guys,
My passport expires during the third year of my undergraduate study. I applied for visa in New Delhi. I had always figured that I would renew my passport and extend the study permit, once I got it. is it mandatory for my passport to be valid for the whole four years of study in order for them to grant me a study permit? Please help!

They will issue you a permit till the validity of your travel document.

It is recommended that you have 4 years validity to avoid problems later. But if you cannot get a new passport then you will have to apply for passport renew and study permit extension.

You'll get a permit till the validity of your passport... you can renew your due to expire passport only if the expiry is less than a year far.
Later you can apply for and get a student permit extension.

Hey Kashif, I arrived in delhi yesterdaY. Going to some consultancy agency to see what to do next. I will most probably withdraw the application and apply through VFS because early June application seems to be not processing at all.

Sandhuboy, I am going to the University of Alberta. Got a pretty good scholarship from there.
