Does MP request really help?

So, my sibling who is present in Canada asked their MP to request IRCC for my Study permit application decision, and this is what the MP replied

Hello,

I spoke with IRCC, and they advised the application for Archit is open and in progress. Criminality and medical have passed, eligibility is in progress, and they are still working on the application. They know the January 8, 2024, start date and asked that I call back next week, which I will do.

I will keep you advised. Thank you.

If your sibling’s processing time is in line with others being processed and MP will essentially give you the same information as in GCMS notes or on the portal. There is little they can do about approval or an answer before January 8th so your sibling should be contacting their school to enquire about the possibility of having to defer. In some smaller programs your sibling may have already lost their spot for January. Having a sibling already in Canada can make getting approval more challenging hopefully attending a top public university or a top college program.

If your sibling’s processing time is in line with others being processed and MP will essentially give you the same information as in GCMS notes or on the portal. There is little they can do about approval or an answer before January 8th so your sibling should be contacting their school to enquire about the possibility of having to defer. That's hard to hear, they just won't make a final decision on my application just because my sibling is present in Canada, Total BS.

They can report you what IRCC is upto at best. But they can't influence the decision or speed it up.

they aren’t going to check regularly if normal processing time. No impact of someone opens your file

My file is past the normal processing time of 10 weeks
