I think you should just contact potential exam centers (as I recall it is only Alliance Francaise) and ask whether they conduct the TEF Canada. I would avoid trying to just do the sections separately - immigration is complicated enough without innovation :) You also have an option to do the TCF (but the option came after I did the TEF, so don't know much about it). I'm sure you've seen this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=998&top=29

I live in Bangkok, but had the choice of going to Vietnam or Singapore to do the TEF Canada (and yes, it was specifically given as TEF Canada, and everyone there was doing it for immigration). My local AF said they don't do it. I would say that, compared to IELTS, the frequency of the test is low (I think it was 4 times a year or something in Singapore) and the results can take some time.

Bon chance!
1 thing more Yes in that link clearly mentioned TEF Canada and TCF Canada with 4 compulsory sections
my Question is where they said clearly if someone get regular TEF[with all sections op+co] they will not accept that

if this Question solve in any way i get my answer!!

Hello @aamool thanks for your reply
something you pointed not clear to me let me i clarify with you
1-you did TEF exam ? if yes did you give all sections (include compulsory and optional)
so what happened does IRCC accepted your TEF ?or you didn't mention ?

2-what you mean by your local AS said do not do it? what task he/she advise you ?

3-what you mean by low frequency ?

4-so you meant i have to verify with Language organizer(in my country we don't have alliance) ?but in this case in my country TEF and TEF Canada held ...i think you mean i ask whether i can give optional sections or NOT?please clear it for me
or i think better if possible i verify with IRCC

finally you mean just TEF with optional can be accepted or not
@aamool why i ask you word by word because about this thread there are really different ideas!!still i am confused i don't know how i can solve it
1: I did the TEF Canada. It consists of 4 compulsory sections.
2. Alliance Francaise is the organization that conducts TEF in and around Southeast Asia. My local AF said they don't offer TEF Canada. As they just administer the examination, they have no view on whether or not IRCC will accept doing the TEF instead. Also, I must add that there are very few applicants for Canadian immigration in this country and practically none interested to do the French test. I know this because I was a student at the AF and my teacher told me there was no demand for TEF Canada at all.
3. The IELTS, especially the computer version, is offered every day. The TEF Canada (at least in Singapore) is only offered a few times a year. Thus the frequency is lower.
4. If I were you, I would find the closest location that gives either the TEF Canada or the TCF Canada. Having gone through the whole immigration process myself I think the best way is to follow instructions to the letter.

I've seen other threads where someone in Brazil did the normal TEF + a speaking course and apparently it was accepted. I think confirming this kind of thing with the IRCC is quite difficult (your mileage may vary) - but if you can, great. If you do not confirm with the IRCC, and can afford to reapply in case it does not work out, then you should proceed. In my case, I was not in a position to reapply, so it was no or never. So I took the safe route and did the test in a neighboring country.

hello again @aamool

Sir how i can confirm this via IRCC ? i sent mail i have not received any reply yet?

and one important question may useful for others :
if we add optional parts of TEF to exam -> does all procedure and exam types (Questions+scoring) will be same as TEF Canada ?i mean TEF exam types are equal to tef canada
if Your answer Yes , i think with giving optional possible
Sir my problem is i want to get private class which is expensive ,trainer talked to me about TEF
just as you gave your exam is there or are there any sensible different between TEF and TEF Canada?

Hi - contacting IRCC is very difficult (even for essential things related to your application), so I'd be impressed if you were able to do it.

I've already shared everything I know, so I will now drop off this thread.

Wish you all the best.
