Hello all

if someonehit a car in the parking-and since it was very minor he left the scene the Police called him and let-him go to the court for a hit and run.
There was no one in the other car no injuries and the fine was 345 $ under sextion 69 2 a
Would that affect the citizenship application?

thanks

I doubt it will affect your citizenship application. This does not seem to constitute as a Felony

I believe not. It is mentioned in the application process, that Indictable offence would impact the citizenship application.

An offence is any violation of a Canadian law or act, whether or not it occurs in Canada. It can include anything from trespassing or damaging property to immigration fraud or violent crime. There are two main types:
  • Summary offences — These are less serious. The maximum penalty for a summary offence is usually a $5,000 fine and/or six months in jail.
  • Indictable offences — These are more serious and include theft over $5,000, break and enter, aggravated sexual assault and murder. Maximum penalties vary and include life in prison. Some have minimum penalties.

No, but it’s extremely poor judgement and your car insurance is going to go thru the roof , like thru the roof. Wouldn’t be surprised if you’re put over to one of the facilitators for car insurance.
