Hi everyone

I came Canada 2009 and did claim as refugee inside Canada and after court I have got approved to be protected person and I got my PR card on May 30/ 2013 ,just wondering does new law will effect me too?

It does affect you in some ways, your days before becoming a permanent resident are not counted any more. So if you have not travelled since May 2013, then you will be able to apply for citizenship in (approximately) June 2017.

I'm sorry if it is a bad news for you.

Tnx TomTony
Yes this is really bad News for a lots of people ,who are paying TAX like other Canadian .

Be happy that you are away from the misery of your country.
Canada protects you now

Just be careful after you get Canadian citizenship, do not commit any crime. If you do then Canada will take your Canadian citizenship away, and depart you back

Not any crime. Just treason or terrorism or citizenship fraud. If you commit other crime besides treason or terrorism, obtained citizenship through fraud, you won't lose your citizenship.

People are trying to scare people into thinking they will lose citizenship over any crime. That is completely bogus.

How about if he is found guilty of treason that he never committed? Does that mean he has to go back to country he fled, and probably face death consequences.

If he gave up his other citizenship then no chance at all.

Honestly though... a country that would just arbitrarily convict someone of a high crime without proof is probably no better than the country he just left. In cases like that, being sent back might not be such a bad thing after all.
