Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me out with this. I have my marriage certificate and a police clearance in a language not English and French. Both are translated by the legal translator.

Do I still need to these steps that are mentioned in the CIC website?

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with:

  • the English or French translation; and
  • an affidavit from the person who completed the translations; and
  • a certified photocopy of the original document.

I'm sure that the affidavit form can't be signed by translator and notary public in our region.

Please advise if you came across such scenario.

Hi, you still need the Affidavit, it's mandatory.
In case that it's not possible in your country you should explain that in the LOE.

You can share your country and then members here from the same country can share their experience with you.
