Hello,

My PR is approved, what documents do I need to bring when I enter Canada,
So far I know I need to bring
proof of funds
an address to ship my PR card (do I need to submit a proof of address)
I also need to get a travelling health insurance

Is there anything else I am missing.

Thank You

What immigration route did you go through as requirements vary by this?

So far I know I need to bring

Depends on immigration route you went through. For example, this is not required for spousal sponsorship

an address to ship my PR card (do I need to submit a proof of address)
Yes, but no 'proof' of address required. It has to be a normal residential address in Canada (i.e. NOT a rented PO Box or a business address)

I also need to get a travelling health insurance
Again, depends on immigration route. Not MANDATORY for spousal sponsorship (but very wise to have it IMHO)

Is there anything else I am missing?
Customs 'goods accompanying / goods to follow' lists if you are bringing anything in to Canada and IF this is also your 'landing as settler' landing (i.e. you are not simply doing a 'soft' landing).

This would sound like a smart-ass comment but dont forget your COPR and your passport ;) along with your customs BSF186 and BSF186A forms.

Hi everybody,
Just to understand clearly which I read from this forum, I cannot carry my FD statement from an Indian Bank while doing my landing? Is that correct? If so, can anybody please let me know the mode of carrying my POF?
I will be doing my landing in the last week of July. The FD is in an Indian Bank and I will be doing my landing from US.
Should I just transfer that money to my US Bank account and take the statement? Or transfer the money to my US Bank account and convert it to CAD.
Any inputs are greatly appreciated and as always, thank you guys.

Anything that you can mobilize easily should be good, home country assets are also fine for example bank statements, checkbook, Traveller checks or prepaid cards.

This would be same information that you would have indicated in your application.

Transferring funds to Canada is more practical for your own sake since you would start expending from day one.
