Documents reported as missing

Hello all -

I'm hoping someone might be able to help or has had a similar situation.

My common-law partner and I recieved an email from the case processing centre saying that 4 of the forms we completed were incomplete and a list of the forms that needed to be re-submitted.

After questioning this further they provided a list of 5 forms (one further form that was not included previously) and a description of the pages that were missing. Page 2 of 2, page 1, 4, 5 of 5 etc. I have questioned with them how these pages could go missing when we sent the application in full from our end but have not heard back.

Could they mean the documents have errors on them or are incomplete on those pages, or do they actually mean that these are missing?

Is it possible that someone at the processing centre lost part of our application?

We don't have an issue re-sending the forms but I am a bit concerned that someone has lost or misplaced parts of our application. We are also unclear if this means we will have to re-submit supporting documents if these may have been lost as well.

Any help would be appreciated, feeling a little lost here!!

Did you leave anything in blank? They ask you to write "N/A" when something isn't applicable to you. Even if it's something obvious, or a question you have answered previously. Or maybe you didn't use staplers?! :p

Nothing was left blank and we either put N/A or none if not applicable.

I honestly can't remember what we used to attach - can it make that big of a difference though?? Surely if they dropped the pages they would realise that this was their mistake and not ours?

Not sure if I should just suck it up and re-send or try to speak to someone senior at the office?

I was joking about the staplers. :-[ It doesn't matter;
I'm sorry to hear that and I can't really imagine what happened, I assume that re-submitting the forms as soon as possible is the best option because trying to contact them could be a headache. The Call Centre isn't very useful. ???

This is so typical...
I sent my medicals with my PR application. Last week I received first stage approval and an email saying I meet all the requirements to apply for a PR but I have to get my medicals done and send it to them before they can further process my application.
I called CIC 6 times this day and received 5(!) different answers. They told me I had to redo my medicals (even though they are still valid until April 15th), they told me they received the medicals but cannot find the results,I should contact the physician then call them back, they told me THEY would contact the physician for this matter, they told me they never received any medicals from me,they told me I should resend my medicals because the results are not showing up in their system.
Confused and upset I called again on Monday and the first agent (first time someone kind)said ,that my medicals are NOW FINALLY showing up in their system and everything is good. Hooray!
I think sometimes you should gotta keep calling and asking, asking, asking! Dont just agree with what they are saying, question it and stand your ground!

I have a friend that received her whole file back saying a page was missing. When she went through the documents it was right there. She was not impressed as everything was organized according to the checklist and all.

It is reassuring to know that I am not alone in this, just still very frustrating.

I will put another call in and an e-mail before re-submitting. The last thing I want is more conflicting information to appear further along down the line.

Thanks for everyones comments.

Just wanted to share an update for this post in case someone else goes through the same problems with CIC Mississauga that we did.

Following this post we re-submitted our documents to the CIC via e-mail and post. We never heard back from them after sending the documents so started to follow-up with them a week or so after we had confirmation from the post office that they had been received. The Mississauga office claimed to have never received the documents a second time.

To make matters worse, the Mississauga office also sent back a bunch of my partners documents for his application. They sent back his medical, police certificate and random pages of our lease agreement and one page of about 20 pages of pictures that we sent in. They claimed that they did not know which application the documents were for, even though they were sent as a package when we initially sent documents and have my partners name all over them.

A process which should have taken 28 days (according to their website) was reaching 4 months and we were not getting any answers from CIC Mississauga as to how they lost our documents in the first place or why they were sending back random pieces of my partners application. We followed up with them constantly, faxing, e-mailing and posting our application but still received no confirmations of receipt.

To get to the end of our frustrating story, we ended up contacting a local MP in Toronto who got on the case for us. I'm not sure if it was just pure luck of timing, but 3 days after our MP contacted CIC Mississauga I got a letter saying that I was approved as sponsor!

Our file has now been transferred to the UK CIC so hopefully things will be a lot smoother from now on.

Our dealings with CIC Mississauga were so incredibly frustrating and they have been so irresponsible with our visa application, I am extremely let down by my home country immigration office.

If anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation my best advice would be to follow-up as much as possible (fax, e-mail and post) and if this is not getting you anywhere, escalate to someone with power.

In Canada all of the MP's e-mails are online. If you google 'find my local MP Canada' you can find the link (sorry the forum won't let me post the direct link) you just have to enter your post code.
