Hmm... I read that too.yep. in the small print it says you only need to submit IELTS if you're looking to claim points for it. i was already well over the passmark without it so thought I'd save myself the expense and the hassle. We'll see in time if it workd!
But also this on IMM 4500:
"Proof of Language Proficiency
For your application to be eligible for processing, you must include original results of one of the following language tests from a testing agency designated by IRCC with your application
Note: If you do not submit the original results of your official language proficiency test with your application to the Central Intake Office (CIO), your application will not be processed and will be returned to you as incomplete."
And the guideline for Schedule 6A (Q4):
"Language (continued)
Unless you have taken an approved test or tests to assess your proficiency in English or French, you should not submit an application.
For this reason, your answer to this question should be “yes”. If you answer “no”, and you do not submit the results of the assessment of your official language proficiency, your application will be returned to you as incomplete."
But as far as yours has not been returned and is currently being processed, I think it indicates it's fine?
