I know taxation status is different from immigration status. But I am wondering anyone knows CRA has your immigration status (e.g. citizen, PR, study permit or work permit) on file?

If you have a SIN starting with a 9 , they know.
You think all that data doesn’t go anywhere. It’s 2023, not 1963

As mentioned earlier, the quickest way you can tell is by someone's SIN number (as citizens/PR's numbers start with different numbers than temporary residents). Given the CRA has your SIN number, they can certainly tell.
