Do we get confirmation mail if our Visa is approved.

I want to know if we get confirmation mail from Canadian embassy if our Study permit application is approved. My friend applied through VFS Delhi office and is asked to collect the processed passport from there. She did not received any mail from the Canadian Embassy if her application is accepted or rejected.
Does it mean she did'nt got the Visa.
Please reply as she is in very great shock.

Yes we get approval mail before passport dispatch. There are high chances her visa has been rejected.
