confirmation mail

i somewhere read on this forum that general category applicants do not get a confirmation mail if the application is approved and is only reserved to SPP applicants.
i have applied under general category.
it would be of great help if someone could clear this confusion.

That's the incorrect! General category applicant too get conformation mail

I applied under univ category and I received a confirmation email more or less at the same time as the vfs tracking status changed.
