Hi my plane has a 1.5 hour layover in Vancouver before heading to the main destination, Toronto. Just wondering if I'm supposed to do my landing in Vancouver or should I wait til I get to Toronto?

You'll be going through customs in Vancouver, not Toronto, so you'll have to do your landing in Vancouver.

Edit: I'm fairly certain, but not 100% sure.

You go through customs and immigration at your first point of entry, which is Vancouver. Vancouver to Toronto is a domestic flight and you will not go through immigration.
On that note, an hour and a half is unlikely to be enough time.

Cant you just go through vancouver and enter canada as a tourist if youre visa exempt and once in toronto do a flagpole?

To flagpole in Toronto, they would have to go to the nearest land border, which is Niagara Falls.

But they can land in vancouver and not do the landing procedure if they want. Depending on whether theyre visa exempt or not.

I think they can just tell the immigration officer they want to land later when theyre in toronto.i thi k thats fine.

Then they wont miss their flight :)

If this is possible, I'd check for line up in immigration just incase. My husband made it through customs, landing procedure and security for next flight in less than an hour, and I had made sure to have a longer layover incase!
