Do I need to submit IMM5481 to sponsor my spouse & our child?

Hi, I'm a bit confused.

IMM5481 is a Sponsorship Evaluation form. CIC Web site says "The sponsor fills out this form if sponsoring only a dependent child who has no dependent children of his or her own."

I am applying for sponsorship of my husband (Principal Applicant of PR) AND our child (Dependent of my husband and myself). Do I need to fill IMM5481? I didn't see it on the document checklist, IMM5533, that applies to our case... so am wondering if IMM5481 is required only for the sponsor of child(ren) ONLY and NO spouse i.e. not in my case.

Can someone answer please?

Hi, IMM 5481 is to be filled out by the Sponsor ONLY. If you were to click the link on the number 2 item of IMM 5533 under Sponsor, it will take you to the Step by Step Instructions which is the Guide 5289. When you get to Guide 5289, go down to Step 3 which is the list of forms for both Sponsor and Sponsored person.

Hi Survivor 27, thank you for your reply! Even though my wording was unclear probably (English is not my native tongue... Sorry) but you directed me to the right answer. Just for someone who might wonder similarly as I did, let me clarify what I meant in my original question and answer.

I am a permanent resident who wants to sponsor my husband and our child, and wasn't sure if I had to fill IMM5481 as I did not see any mentioning of IMM5481 on a PRINTED VERSION of IMM5533 I was following to collect necessary documents. The trick was... I had to open the SOFT VERSION of IMM5533 and click the LINK to "Step-by-step instruction" for IMM1344, as Survivor 27 pointed out 8)

When you go to the link, you'll see the list of forms the sponsor must fill out and sign. They are (as of Jan 2017):
1) Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking [IMM 1344] (PDF, 441.45 KB)
2) Sponsorship Evaluation and Relationship Questionnaire [IMM 5532] (PDF, 853.05 KB)
3) Sponsorship Evaluation [IMM 5481] (PDF, 742.74 KB), only if you are sponsoring your dependent child who has no dependent children of their own. Unless instructed otherwise, sponsors in Quebec do not need to fill this out. See: Sponsors living in Quebec
4) Financial Evaluation [IMM 1283] (PDF, 1.24 MB), only if you are sponsoring a dependent child who has their own dependent child. Unless instructed otherwise, sponsors in Quebec do not need to fill this out.
5) Use of a Representative (IMM 5476) (PDF, 648.31 KB), if using a representative.

Neither IMM5481, IMM1283 is explicitly listed on IMM5533, but we have know to provide either one to sponsor a child (unless you're a Quebec applicant...)!

I'm still confused. I'm sponsoring just my wife. We have no kids.

Do I need to fill:
Sponsorship Evaluation [IMM 5481]
Financial Evaluation [IMM 1283]

or you need those forms are only if you have dependent children? Wording is a little bit confusing.
