Both my husband and I are professional people, he teaches and I work with young offenders and I am a trained psychotherapist. But because one of our children is disabled we are exclueded it seems from emigration to Canada, (and indeed New Zealand). We have always wanted to migrate to Canada and have two teenage sons who were also keen. Our daughter has cerebral palsy. We look after her entirely by herself, and despite her considerable disabilities, she is incredibly healthy. While we are aware she will never live or work independently, we feel as a family we have so much to offer. But after fighting for many years and losing huge amounts of money to agents who said they could help us, we have had to give up our dream. What a shame.
