I'll be applying for citizenship soon and for proof of language proficiency, I have a B.A. from University of Toronto. Does anyone know if you have to submit the original copy of your diploma or whether a photocopy is acceptable?

Thanks,
abstractioness

Definitely, photocopy unless you have multiple copies of your original diploma .

Providing a transcript copy is better than parchment copy. Parchment copy doesn't always work because it doesn't show the year stretch.

I submitted mine using the College Transcript but they return it saying it is not an acceptable evidence of language proof.

So now I'm wondering too if Diploma is enough? Are you sure about it?

Huh. Well in their instruction guide it says:

Proof of completion of secondary or post-secondary education in French or English includes:

A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in Canada or abroad. or
A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation, in Canada or abroad.

What do you mean by parchment copy? Do you mean transcripts as opposed to diploma?

Hi Kepner,

Is there a reason why your college transcript was unacceptable? Is it because it didn't say you completed your degree?

Thanks a lot

Yes, Photocopy is absolutely acceptable (though i did notarization as well [as it adds a layer of authenticity on your document])

Hey,

What did you mean by advanced diploma transcript? Official transcript stating that you completed the degree or something else?

Thanks for replying.

It says "photocopy" at the end of a long list and footnotes, so I wasn't sure what exactly it referred to, and I wanted to be sure. If you're going to be snappy, just don't reply at all.

You can also send the notarized photocopy of your diploma, don't send them originals.

It show all the courses taken, time(semester), definitely it was in English language except Canada College/university teaches in other language and it also show the grades. It is like every other degree.
