Hi All,
My wife and I applied for express entry and we were accepted in 2017. We did our landing in Dec 2017 and then left after a week. At the time of this landing we visited customs on the way in and told them that we were planning to bring our furniture and whatnot with us later and they made a note in their system. We did not have any list with us at the time and they didn't give us any documentation (that we can recall).
We then visited again as tourists in mid-2018 and then arrived here to settle in mid-2019. However, our shipping company in Australia told us that we did not need to submit any forms on arrival so we did not submit the BSF186 form to customs upon arrival.
Our shipment is going to arrive here in the next few weeks and we are now being told by the local agent that we should have submitted this form on arrival.
Anyone have any experience of this situation and can advise what they would recommend we do? Best we have come up with is to go to the customs office here in Toronto and hope for the best.
Thanks,
