Didn't ask to cut PR card during citizenship ceremony

Not sure if this is the best place to ask but any advice is appreciated!!!

So my mom took the oath to become a canadian citizen today, but during the entire ceremony beginning til end when the officer ended the ceremony, she was never asked to cut her PR card, did they actually just...forgot? I thought after the ceremony became remote on Zoom, everyone needed to cut their PR card in front of the camera and the officer.

It happens. She can choose to still cut it if she wants, but your mom can enjoy a little souvenir with her PR card intact. That PR card will no longer be valid anyway.

My officer wasn't even watching while I was cutting mine lol.
