Santo Domingo went from 22 months down to 18 months. Most people seem to get their visas around the 12 month mark though.
Haiti went from 11 months (I think) down to only 6 months.

yaaaay good, it would have been nicer if they all decrease :) for haiti, i think it's just cuz there were less people applying due to all that tragedy :(

What office are you applying through? We can't make any educated guesses without that kind of information.

anyway 1-2 months more or less it does not matter anymore when u waited maybe 1 year...also, some cases r processed much faster than what they say, those times are average....... :)

Hello Charlie

Thanks for the reply, i guess it is in Vegreville, anyway, what difference does it make between offices?isn't it the same for processing? they sau they received my application on May 13, 2011, i thought as all the files it will take 2 months to start processing my case but as i wrote before nothing has changed. Might it be the problem of my lawyer? this is what he sent me before please check it:

(Svp demander a Celina qu'on me fasse parvenir une facture ou une preuve de résidence car j'ai recu l'acceptation de Canada et il nous manque le certificat de selection du Quebec.)

Then he sent me this:

(j ai besoin d une preuve quelconque de residence au quebec. une fois envoyee, l¸a demande sera finalisee dans quelques mois)

My wife is sponsoring me from Canada, i am in Lebanon, and we have 2 children both Canadians, i thought this would make everything easier but it seems not.

is ur lawyer ur representative also? does he receive all ur correspondance? it looks that ur wife should have received a letter from Missisauga confirming that her sponsorship application is approved and give u further instructions abt the following steps (apply for csq and have ur file forward to damascus); then, once u apply for csq u would receive it in about 3-4 weeks...also damascus is sometimes sending an aor (acknoledgemt of receipt) for the application

since ur lawyer did not tell u when what was received or sent, i don't know at what step u r :/ i'm not sure if what he asks u to provide is for damascus office or is to apply for csq :/ u should ask ur lawyer for more details and ask him to give u the letters; if the csq is ready u will need it for everything in quebec

and no the processing times r not the same; the sponsor part yes is the same for all but then each embassy has its own processing time (damascus 13 months, abu-dhabi 27, accra 31, buffalo 11, etc...see the link i put up); also the inland times is different than the outland times

just to add that some embassies will wait for the csq and then they start the process of ur file....usually u need to follow up to make sure they received the csq....good luck!!

PS: look over the Damascus thread too, it's very helpful and maybe someone can share similar experience with u

On this note, reading other people say the same thing as you made me start a new thread to try to figure out if indeed CIC will not continue with your file until they get the CSQ. Or if it's not consistently CIC, then particular visa offices, in which case I need to know about Buffalo. I got a response from someone with the London office saying they apparently had been working on other aspects of his file before they got the CSQ, because the PPR came within days of them receiving the CSQ from Quebec. I have been trying to determine if Buffalo did or not recieve mine, but alas, when your visa office is not one of the nice and relatively less busy ones that will respond to your request, it's impossible. So all I get are responses that say "Due to high volumes, we cannot acknowledge receipt of email, fax, regular correspondence (applications, payments, documents or information) or medical exam results. If you have recently submitted documents or information to this office, we will update your file accordingly, if needed. If we require additional documents, we will contact you."
