Hi folks,
My Credit Card CVV is a 3 digit number which starts with 0. As I put the 0 as the first digit, it was omitted automatically by the acrobat reader. I tried on other PCs, it was also the same; so I just typed "xx" instead of "0xy". I wonder whether there is a difference between "xx" and "0xx" or even "00xy" for a CVV and why the form is like that? Does anyone have the same experience? My application is at CIO now. I asked some guys, hey told me that you should have written by black pen instead.
Thanks

CVV is always 3 digits. I hope CIC people will try adding a zero once they see that it has only 2 digits.
Since you have discovered this before sending, you should have typed it by pen :( Or at least put a sticky note on that page clarifying that the leading zero is being omitted by Adobe Reader.

Credit card charge authorization needs the exact CVV otherwise payment won't be approved :(

I wish you best of luck.

So you mean they might don't know about this error in their forms?
What should I do now? :(( I have a UCI from my last application. Should I send a new form and a cover letter? Or should I send an email? Will it work? or just probably it will work?

Are you sure? So why do they need CVV?

I do not know why, just because? When you shop with your card in a grocery store or pay in the restaurant, you do not need your CVV. Just wait and see what happens.

CVV is required when the physical card is not present. Like any transaction where the physical card is not inserted in a POS (point of sale).

You don't need CVV in a grocery because you give them the physical card. They magnetic strip (or chip) has all the info needed, so they don't need to enter CVV manually.

All online merchants requires CVV (booking a hotel, buying an airline ticket, online shopping, etc). There are very rare exceptions who doesn't require CVV like Amazon.com

I advise that you send an email to CIC immediately mentioning your UCI number, explain the situation, hopefully they will read your email before they start processing your file.

That's true. I've already sent email, also planning to send a new payment form + cover letter by courier. Hope they will work :) Thanks for your help

I would suggest that you wait for application file number to be generated, so that they can connect your additional Fee Payment Form or any additional file based on the file number.

However, CVV is always required for an online transaction. But in some international transaction additional Visa Verified passwords are not required.

Best of Luck!! 8) 8)

Thank you :) I already have UCI from my last application for Student Visa, would it be OK?

y_y,
I'd suggest you to search this forum carefully - there was a topic recently with the similar issue (incorrect CC details). Very detaild and usefull recommendation were given.
Unfortunatelly couldn't find it myself, sorry. Hopefully you'll be more determined.

Indeed you need to send them correct payment form + cover letter ASAP, and follow it up very carefully.
Have a look over here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/credit-card-declined-in-fsw-t237688.30.html

N try to contact SonOfOdin - he managed to resolve an issue with his CC

Hey, Same is the case with me! my application is on the way and will reach there by 30th Dec 2014. Any ideas if CIC will try putting 0 themselves? Since CIC will stop accepting applications from Jan 2015 onwards, i do not have time to send another application :(
Please let me know what you did in your case.

dear in restaurant u ve ur card with you....but cic wont be having...

I agree..i should have written it with pen but somewhere it's the problem with CIC form as well. They suggest you to fill the form on computer to avoid any human errors but here their form itself is not correct. I guess if they already know this issue then they should be trying with 0 prefix rest is luck.
Lets see, i will keep you all posted. In case anyone of you already faced it then do share your experience.

Thanks
