I agree..i should have written it with pen but somewhere it's the problem with CIC form as well. They suggest you to fill the form on computer to avoid any human errors but here their form itself is not correct. I guess if they already know this issue then they should be trying with 0 prefix rest is luck.
Lets see, i will keep you all posted. In case anyone of you already faced it then do share your experience.

Thanks
all the best....

Yes, that's their problem, not mine or yours, but they don't care. I noticed an applicant who had the same problem with expiry date of his/her credit card and he/she narrowly got charged after several tries by CIO.
I will let you know too if I got charged, although I sent an addendum too. My main application was received on Nov 07 and soon I might be charged if there is no problem with that goddamned 0!

CVV is required when the physical card is not present. Like any transaction where the physical card is not inserted in a POS (point of sale).

You don't need CVV in a grocery because you give them the physical card. They magnetic strip (or chip) has all the info needed, so they don't need to enter CVV manually.

All online merchants requires CVV (booking a hotel, buying an airline ticket, online shopping, etc). There are very rare exceptions who doesn't require CVV like Amazon.com

I advise that you send an email to CIC immediately mentioning your UCI number, explain the situation, hopefully they will read your email before they start processing your file.
Although I agree with you in general, but this might not be absolutely necessary. I remember back in September 2009, when CIC first introduced the option to pay by CC (I was amongst the first to pay this way), there was no CVV field in the payment form. My CC got charged without the CVV and must have been the same for all other CC applicants. Not sure if CIC has changed their procedure in any way since then or this field is just for security reason. The point is OP might still have a little chance with this.

Dear all,
I'm here to tell that finally I got charged (I sent addendum and fortunately it was matched with the application).
