Did CIC just missed another "deadline" for those applied before April 1, 2015?

Called today as cic updated status was 4th april, but no information from CIC, agent said he sent an email. Very bad attitude of CIC of not being answerable
Called CIC today as well... my Tuesday routine... Got pretty angry call agent.
First she asked all the questions, interrupted me quite a few times, got especially angry for my choice of word 'deadline' - for 31 March. Later she said that CIC promised to complete all the application but couldn't deliver. As for my application, they already sent the reminder on 31st and now I have to wait 3 months for their reply... she urged me not to call them until June 30.
Welcome to the country with most shallow, incompetent, populist and ignorant government and all their departments.

Though we are PR, not citizen but definitely we need to raise concern to PM and Minister through MP for CIC not being accountable/answerable for. I will be doing in next few weeks likely

feeling that's the only department works when they wish to... call Centre agents I totally agree are extremely rude all they want is for you to get off their line asap n try to discourage you don't even bother to call..I remember one of my friend got simple letter requesting her marriage certificate as she was going g through name change even though she submitted all ids plus passport with married name it's fine if they ask a document not big deal what surprises me is cic agent told her wait for 36 months as it's not a routine application simply horrible n very discouraging they increased the fees for no reason still no progress...

Here's my story...

My wife's application got DM 8 months ago and Mine got DM 4 Months ago.

I got the CIT050 request, so call centre agent asked me to wait till reach the 3 year mark.

I requested ATIP on March 3, and it's been 35 days. I sent email for status request, and I was told they mark my request as "proiority"

I talked with MP's for more than 20 emails for the past month, and I finally was told by MP's that CIC said my application is under review and wait for the 3 year mark. The MP's office said in their last email that I should contact them in July 2017 if I didn't hear anything from CIC.

I'm just very disappointed about the whole system. Why the hell they changed my status to decision made if it's still under review. If they really made a decision, it takes CIC more than 4 months to send me a refusal letter or to schedule an oath?

Same here, I was told to wait for 36 months also. It seems we're back to the Jason Kenney way of processing applications.

Hey tds69us, if you didn't have RQ, how do you know that your application is on the secondary review (and what the hell is that thing ) ?

Sorry to hear about your situation. If so, why did they mention DM, its ridiculous. Unfortunately this Federal Agency work without any accountability or responsibility at all.

Waiting for another 3 years is long time and unacceptable. Probably after receiving the ATIP report, you might consider other options. If you are eligible under current rules, may be you can withdraw and re-apply.

Its really so frustrating, despite increasing the fee 500% there is absolutely nothing changed though initially they showed sort of flash in the pan by quickly processing some applications. Now they are back to their old delaying tactics. Yet, nobody is doing anything and letting PR suffer for years.

In some cases, re-applying is just a gamble. CIC does not specify the reason of your delay, and not knowing it, one might end up in the same situation as before. Not to mention already spent money on previous application (fees, translations, etc.) + waisted time.

Canadiandesi2006 , Unfortunately I also think that your application is facing delays due to the fact that it's your second application.

There's a common misconception that an application should be routine if the applicant does not receive an RQ during any processing stage of the application. An application can be considered non-routine EVEN without issuing an RQ to the applicant, which is what happened to my application. I was told AFTER SUCCESSFULLY PASSING MY TEST!!!! that my application will be sent for secondary review (to be re-assessed by another officer) because there are unsubstantiated doubts about my residency obligation which is complete BS because any application should be thoroughly checked in the early stages to see if it meets the physical presence requirements not to mention the CBSA entry/exit record that is obtained to support this check. In my case, the CIC is wasting their time, my time, and tax-payer money because they will not reach a different conclusion with this secondary review of my application.

The new "deadline" is the end of this year. This was mentioned at the Committee today.

Note: This is the new "deadline" for now. I expect some more farther into the future "deadlines" to follow.

Fantastic news!
Just out of curiosity, anyone knows how Citizenship officers receive their salary (taxpayers' money) ? If they need to submit their timesheet on each and every applications they 'worked' on, shouldn't they be accountable for the delay if I sue my Case officer (CIC in general)?

Frankly I don't see any legal grounds for suing them, simply because there were never any mandatory timelines to follow.

The standard IRCC follows is 80% on time and the rest 20% with unknown delays. It is just like a lottery. Like tds69us mentioned, there is a big misconception that only those applications with request for more documents are likely to face unknown delays.

Good news everyone, according to CIC processing time calculator, people who applied before April 2015 are non-routine applicants. Congratulation !
