Hi Everyone,

I recently received ITA and will be undergoing medical test with a panel physician soon. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how diabetes can affect my application for express entry.

I am a healthy male, age 30. I mean I am at a pre-diabetic stage, last time I had my medical done with my local doctor. But I am worried that if it is found that I am diabetic in their medical test then will it negatively impact my application? Will this result in rejection straight away? Are there any steps I should take at my end in the current situation?

Thanks

As the inadmissibility is based on the anticipated cost to Canada over the next 5 years (IIRC) , and diabetes is generally manageable at reasonable cost, it's unlikely to be an inadmissibility issue. However, every case is different...

A change of diet and increased exercise is likely enough to return your sugars to normal at your age. Would highly suggest you try this because diabetes causes so many longterm side effects.

Agree the prediabetes will not cause refusal.
