Home tie is just to prove to the CIC officer handling your application that you have something to fall back on should you have to leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay. So in my own view, they dont want people to go and become illegal resident/migrants in case they cant secure employment or gain legal resident status at the end of their stay which will eventually become a burden on Canadian government. To avert this, the CIC officer will scrutinize every applicant to their satisfaction before they let them in.

Did I hear you right you have investment/saving plan worth $200,000, if I am right, then, you can go along with your parent (thats on a lighter mood). Just ensure that you have the minimum required for tuition+living expenses for you and your accompanying dependent for at least 1year in cash in your bank account, then your investment/saving plan certificate will cover for subsequent expenses and home tie. Should you own any real properties, you can add the documents as proof.

Now, with the new study permit rule, you can work parttime during academic semester and full time during break. Coop/internship depends on your program of study, so I cant say much on that. If you are able to secure open work permit for your wife, that will make life easier for you over there. we applied early this month, the processing time here is between 3-6weeks for study permit and up to 4months for work permit which can be more or less.

I wish you best of luck in your application. You can inbox me your number by messaging me via my profile here as well to communicate better on whatsapp.
HOw should I answer the appllication form, regarding this details:
DETAILS OF INTENDED STUY IN CANADA.
COST OF TUITION FEE/ ROOM AND BOARD /OTHER FUNDS /AVAILABLE FOR STAY

questions:

1. how should I fill up this form, should it be based from my tuition fee given by the university?
2. how will i answer that my sister will provide my accomodation during my stay?
3. IN other funds: is it based from my actual bank act? Because half of my education will be shouldered by my mother? How will i indicate that in my application

I know I will be needing to provide letter of accomodation and affidavit of support but how would I indicate that in my application form. Thanks

There is a drop down column in the study permit application form which requires you to fill your funding source. Among the options are parents, self, others etc. If you have more than one, I will suggest you pick others, then list these sources as remarks in the following box.

Mind you, whoever you are listing as your sponsor/ funding source, you must provide applicable documents such as sponsorship letter/affidavit, sponsor bank statement, your bank statement, rent income if applicable, income from business if your sponsor owns a business, sponsor pay slip to show source of income, your pay slip if your sponsoring yourself, salary certificate and whatever it will be necessary to the success of your application.

Hope that helps?

Yes o i am .but i am about putting in my application next week but thinking of which be faster between online and paper application. there re reported cases of faster processing times in online application but i think it differs from visa office to another.

Also i don't no if is necessary to get ones document certified.

@Mayowa86

I think online application is not only faster but stress free in a way. On document certification i don't think its necessary. Are you applying from Nigeria? If yes maybe we can share contact and follow up on each other.

Good luck to all of us and all the best.
