Dependent child - sponsorship application

My application for sponsorship is in process within CPC Canada and most likey it will be reviewed in next two weeks. Can I ask that may I travel for a short term period due to some emergency / urgent work even I have applied for sponsorship. I hope that will not be an issue. Please advise what will be implications if I have travelled for a short time may be three to four weeks while application is in process.Will there be any issues wil entering Canada? Secondly will it affect the sponsorship application for dependent child. What is the time line during which I should travel back to Canada in scenario where sponsorship application is in process.
