Hi everyone,

I’m just looking to understand if my timeline is within the usual range, or if something may be off with my application.

Applied: Apr 18, 2025
AOR: May 8
Sponsor Eligibility Passed: Jun 9

Since then, there haven’t been any updates—especially no medical request.

I’ve noticed some applicants who applied around late May or even June have already received their medicals, so I’m wondering:
• Has anyone else experienced a similar pause after eligibility passed?
• Could this just be VO-specific or processing batch related?

I completely understand that every case is different—just trying to get a sense of how common this is and whether I should be doing anything proactive.

Thanks in advance for any insights or shared timelines!
Hey @PRforbaby - Have you tried checking with your medical service provider nearby whether IME number is available in their system? Is it possible that the the communication didn't come through (for any reason) but you medical request is there in the system? Timelines of many of the cases in this forum suggest that medical request comes within a week after sponsorship eligibility.

I have also heard (for Economy Immigration) that IRCC holds medical checkup as late as possible in complex cases where background check might take a lot of time because one of the deciding factor of COPR expiry date is Medical check-up expiry date.

Hey @tatertots , thanks so much for your reply and for taking the time to share those insights.

I did follow up on your first suggestion and checked with a couple of panel physicians in the area. Unfortunately, none of them are equipped to track IME numbers based on application details and are reliant on people sharing the IME letter issued by IRCC. It seems the medical request hasn’t been issued on the backend either.

And that's a great point about IRCC possibly delaying medicals to align with longer background checks, especially since the COPR expiry is tied to the medical. I hadn’t considered that angle before, but wonder what could possibly be the reason for delayed background checks for a newborn.

I'll hang tight for a couple of more weeks and try reaching out to IRCC via webform, if there is no update till then.
Really appreciate your response!

Hi Friends
This is regarding the PR Application of Dependent child under 18 years of Age .
I have applied PR online for my dependent Child and Submitted all the Documents and Supporting documents as well with ,Police Clearance certificate ,Letter of Support ,Proof of Funds and other required documents .
Recently application is returned back with objection stating that - A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a dependent child under the age of 18 when a signature for this person is required - I have revisited following docs online for any missing signature on behalf of Dependent child but no luck --IMM 008 , IMM 5406, IMM 5669 ,IMM 5562, IMM 1344(Signed), IMM 5534,IMM 5481,IMM 5604.Travel Documents ,Photos ,Passport, Birth Certificate, Proof of status . Any help or suggestion regarding the documents I have to check for Signature will be highly appreciated .Thanks in Advance

Hi everyone,
I’m posting to see if anyone else is in the same situation or has any advice.
I applied for Permanent Residence under the Family Sponsorship program in June 2024. Since May 8, 2025, both my Eligibility and Background Check have been showing “In Progress” on the new IRCC tracker. I haven’t received any updates or requests from IRCC since then.
It’s been almost a year since I submitted my application, and I’m starting to get really anxious.
Is this kind of delay normal? Should I be contacting IRCC, or is it better to just keep waiting?
If anyone else is going through the same thing or has already passed this stage, please share your timeline or advice. I’d really appreciate it

Thank you.
Please wait ..you will definitely get contacted in case these guys need something ..Best of Luck

that is disappointing. Maybe it is not about missing signature but about how the forms were signed. Personally, in the boxes where forms were to be signed by the minor PA, I signed in below format.

<Parent's signature> (on behalf of the minor applicant<name of the applicant>)

Can you check if you did the same? I have read many such cases in Canada visa forums that IRCC doesn't have a common definition/format of such signs and that's why a few cases are indeed returned.

Hi,

It's understandable what you must be going through, such long wait times can be nerve-wracking.

If you haven't received any updates from IRCC since your last post, you may want to try to reach out to your local MP (https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en) to ask for an update. Explain the situation and say that you'd like them to inquire on your behalf because it has been over a year. It's not a guarantee but it may help move things along.

Hope this helps!

Hey @NomadPR , I have done the same as mentioned by @tatertots for the forms (mostly just IMM 1344) that required the minor PA's signature before uploading and the ones that needed to be signed online. Had not mentioned " on behalf of.." as advised by one of the VIP members in the group in their posts.
Same list of forms as you've shared .

If you think you've signed them correctly, you can try submitting a Webform asking for further clarity or calling IRCC to speak to an agent, so you could re-upload the relevant forms if needed, based on what they say.

Thanks for your inputs ..I rechecked all the forms and found the issue in the very last Declaration form . I hope it will sail smoothly for now ...fingers crossed :)

I had the same, mine was i did put my kids full name on final declaration page instead of my name. They didn't say its a sign, it said only full name. So i thought applicant name.
