I am confused with your questions.

Since your wife hasn't landed/got COPR, her application hasn't completed. You need to add your child (assuming not born in Canada) to her application as dependent. Your child needs to get medical and background check (not much of background for a baby) and once that's all done, your wife and your child's passport will be stamped. Do not submit your wife's passport for stamping until adding your child and having baby to go through the process.

Your child is NOT the primary applicant. Your wife is, the baby is the newly added dependent.

I am trying to sponsor my spouse with her dependent child from a previous marriage and the IRCC asked her to fill the form 5604e to be signed by her Ex husband the problem is that after the divorce she lost contact with him and he did not ask about his child and now she is trying to locate him but without use, how can we fill the form if we cant find him?

derffales only mentioned as a pediatrist and didn't mentioned any specialization. The difficult part is to get resdiency. And that's not yet "practicing" independently.

Yes. My answer is general. For specific answer to his/her case, it may be best to consult an immigration lawyer. And btw. this has NOTHING to do with dependent child sponsorship....

Fantastic News!!!!! we finally got everything sent off to the VAC and the passport is in Mexico for stamping. Yes Ecas is very detailed, ours was changed to DM the day of pre arrival

We received our sons stamped passport back today, one year to the day from when we applied. Hope you have also received your passport back for your child.

Hi,

I applied for spousal sponsorship last year and my wife was pregnant while I applied.I mentioned the same in my Application that I'm expecting baby.Now Baby is born and I'm applying for my Baby.Wife's medical was done backhome and waiting for Passport stamping.

I have following doubts on my baby's application If anyone could please help.

1)In Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008),In ,personal details section in the very beginning,should I keep it same info of my wife same (Same as when I applied her sponsorship) OR give my childs details on that section.There is already " Add dependent" section on Page 3 to Provide childs information on.

2)Is child the primary applicant now? In Signature of applicant,Can I put my signature and write "my child is minor"

3)In Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking form (IMM 1344) ,Item4,Person you are sponsoring,Can i put child's name? and Keep everything else the same

Any help will be much appreciated.

imm1344e . That only has 1 option for Sponsor details for me . Also do I need to add my Wife as a co signer , as she is not working shall I skip it .

My wife is still in sponsorship under my PR and she is in India now.While on process she gave birth and I had to add baby to sponsorship now.

So I filled Generic and Application to sponsor forms.(Fiiled child details in generic)

Primary App is child.You can sign and write father in bracket.

Since I am the PR and sponsoring both,I'm only sponsor for both

Then Included passport,birth certificate,Payment receipt ,photo and a letter to immigration

There is no co-sponsor for dependent sponsorship. That's why there isn't a section for it. Only 1 of you can be the sponsor. imm0008 is for the principle applicant which is your child.
Yes, your child is the principle applicant being sponsored by you. As a parent, you can sign for your child (as the form already stated signaure of applicant or parent.... if under 18)
Your spouse that's already a PR is not a dependent on your on this sponsorship application. I think there is a section for the sponsor's information which you can fill in that you are married.

As my spouse is dependent on me financially in Canada right now .

in that case, include her in IMM5481. You didn't specify which form you were referring to for the question about spouse as your dependent.

Thanks for the help @YVR123 One last question I had as I was working in US before landing in Canada will I be able to show my W2 and tax pay slips from US instead of Canada tax returns as well as bank savings there . For Canadian pay slips I only have 1-2 months and my initial letter of employment from my company and nothing from CRA yet . This is for Form IMM 5481 .. Also I think as my son is a minor I wont need to fill form IMM 1283

Can I not be a co-signer for a dependent child of my husband's? It let me fill out the form... background: In 2020 I sponsored my husband to Canada with non-accompanying child, the child now has the mom's permission to immigrate to Canada, but this parental permission came days after a decision had been made on my husband's PR application (so we couldn't change his child from non-accompanying to accompanying). Now I understand he has to be the sponsor of his own child, so we applied to sponsor his child individually a week and a bit after he got to Canada. I signed as a co-signer to provide financial backing for my husband for the sponsorship. Did I do something incorrectly?

Co-signer is not the same thing as co-sponsor. There is only one sponsor for a dependent child. That's the terminology./
