Hi everyone,
Thanks for your time in advance, if you make some time to read my post!
l was a master degree student in Berlin/Germany.
At the beginning l was doing good, but with time passes, my father become severely ill and l lost him to the cancer after the long painful journey.lt was during the Covid in summer semester of 2020..l have also lost my grandparents. All these incidents took a toll from me and l became severely depressed and l could not past most of my classes in 2019 and 2020. However, l did retake them and succesfully completed some of them, and l was doing research practice and working on my thesis expose when my study permit(residence permit) was about the expire. l had applied for extension, however, my previous insufficient progress caused a refusal and l was given time to leave Germany. l obeyed the decision and voluntarily left within the given time frame.
After l got back to my home country(which is Türkiye), l had relatively more stable life and social support. So l completed the classes l failed during my stay in Germany(it was still Covid time and most of the classes were online). Now l am working on my thesis expose, so if my department allows me to complete and defense my thesis from Turkey, l will complete my degree .
ln the meantime, since Türkiye does not recognize my degree, since l will be completing my degree from distance in Türkiye( Turkey does not recognize degress finished outside the country of the original department/degree), l will also register my second masters degree in Türkiye in upcoming semester and l will pursue my PhD afterwards.
However, my specialization field is not common in Turkey so l would need to improve myself better with the post-doc in Canada(UK, Australia, Canada is the best option for me) or at least l would need Visa to attend to international meetings/seminar or projects to keep up with the international works in my field.
ls having that sort of badmark/immigration history in Germany/Europe on my file hinders my success of Visa applications to Canada?
Has anyone here experienced something similar and were able to secure Canadian Visa?
P.S:l do not have criminal record and do not have entry ban to Germany.
Thanks for your time in advance, if you make some time to read my post!
