If I already have at least 15 years of education, and more than 3 years diploma, how I still not qualify for 22 points?
here is a table-
A three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study+ 22 pounts

iF U GOT A CERTIFICATE OF DIPLOMA and transcript then u will get 22points(may b)
Only postgraduate training wont bring 22

I do have a Diploma (5 years)as a Dentist ( and have transcripts from my University) Plus, certificate of completing Residency after obtaining a Diploma(Oral Surgeon, 2 years) that I can consider as a postgraduate study. Am I right?
I aware that International medical Diploma is not the same as Canadian but if they only awarded points based on a level of education from country of issue, than I can have my 22 points.
Seniors, Would you mind sharing your awarded points with timeline ?

Dear Xehia, the postgraduate degree is known as Masters, My friend applied having a 5 years bachelor degree in dentistry and 1 year Graduate diploma in oral biology, he was awarded 25 points since his graduate diploma was issued by a Faculty of Graduate studies. This is clear in the OP6 guide. I think that in your case you'll earn 25 points.

hi,
all dentists were awarded 20 points by CIC for their Dental degree.
since you had done 5 years dental diploma education, yours will be counted as equivalent to Bachelor degree and consequently will be awarded 20 points.
basically, duration of diploma is 2 or highest 3 years...never 5 years.
you wont get any points for certificate of completing Residency since it is not MASTERS degree

so, i guess who were in anxiety regarding Cap are relaxed now

Since Neither Medical nor Dental Degree in my country has no common division on Bachelor and Masters, we all should rely on awareness of VO.IMHO
If I can not get even 2 from the previously self nominated 5!) extra points for my Certified Residency of 2 years in addition to my 5 years Dental Diploma as well as someone for his "Masters", that is totally unfair. Due to receiving that certificate I was able to go for PHd program that I actually did, but later had given up. And we all know that being able to go for PHD one should get his Masters first.

if u can't make it, CIC will return your full application package with payment.

Masters degree is 4years(For doctor in our country-Ms/MD)
After Bachelor degree we can do a DDS(Diploma of dental Surgery)- it will bring totall 22 points
If any one Do MPH after B.D.S he will b rewarded -25
If any one do PHD -25
In our country 4 year diploma is for Dental assistant can u hope they will get 20 equivalent to our B.D.S 20
