Hello linxord,
Are you still having trouble? I realize this thread is a month old. In case you still need the advice, I would say it depends on the lawyer. I've heard plenty of horror stories of people spending money on a lawyer who then went on to screw up their application anyway. I think the best thing is to do your own thorough research and then consult a few different lawyers (if they all say the same thing, then its probably correct
) regarding things you are unsure about rather than trusting them to do the entire thing. After all, they can make mistakes and doing so will cost them nothing but some 'oopsies' whereas you stand to lose a lot.
My husband was a failed refugee claimant as well and he got his PR via inland application without an interview. We even had a small wedding with a grand total of 3 guests. I suggest sending screenshots of facebook photos of the two of you with comments from your friends. Especially wedding photos. This lets the IO know that the marriage is public and official, lending it that much more credibility. Also a letter telling your love story, cheesy as that sounds. Phone bills with your phone numbers encircled...... the more unusual and personal it is, the more powerful it is. Joint bank account statements are almost a must but at the same time it's also standard and generic. Not having it is bad, but having it doesn't really add that much to your case as everybody else, including marriage of convenience cases, will provide it. A good test is: if you were a stranger looking at your 'evidence', would you feel the love and commitment between these two people, or do they just look like a case pulled from the marriage textbook?
