Hi Everyone

We got a interview date of Feb. 25th which is not a date that I as the sponsor can make and my wife now has some family issues and has gone back there to address.

Is it possible to delay the interview by a month?

thank you

I am afraid it is not possible. It is your responsibility to make arrangements in order to attend the interview on the date it was requested.

Have you specifically been asked to attend the interview? Typically only the applicant attends.

Unless it's a landing interview for an Inland applicant, correct?

Sounds like neither sponsor nor applicant are available for the interview. :o

OP's application is outland through Beijing.

Sorry, didn't take the time to research the OP's details.

I think even if you are able to somehow get them to delay the interview because neither of you are available it is not only going to reflect VERY BADLY upon your application but it might make them decide to put you back to the bottom of the pile and take much much longer than is necessary. If they are asking for an interview, they apparently already have thoughts about this not being a genuine marriage, do you think it's a good idea to give them more ammunition?

I assume if we don't show up, they deny the application or do they ask for an explanation? Just wondering my options if we really can't make that date.

If you don't show, your file is closed as abandoned. Any unused fees should be returned to you and you will have to begin again.

If you can't make it to the interview, it's better to reach out to CIC and ask if possible to re-schedule and provide reasons. Do not ignore the request and do not be "a no show".

Reply to the interview request and ask if it is possible to reschedule. Tell them why it would be hard for you to make the proposed interview.
