Delay in TRV

I applied for my TRV on 3rd May. It's been 49 days now. The background check says 'Not applicable' in my application status.
While the additional documents and eligibility has been reviewed since past two weeks now.
I'm really worried for even if there is no background check happening what is taking so long

Apart from background checks (although not applicable in your case), there could be other parameters which are delaying a decision

If the processing time has crossed the stated time on the IRCC website, you can send a Case Specific Enquiry i.e. Web form on the IRCC website to request for an expedited decision

I'm basically a current student of dentistry in Pakistan and I had applied after I received an offer to attend a short 2 week dentistry elective from university of Toronto in Canada. My dates have already passed. Since the dates have passed will that negatively effect my TRV application.

The visa officer does not make decisions based on intended travel dates and/or scheduled events

Today i recieved my rejection for the TRV!

Following an examination of your application, I am not satisfied that you application meets the requirements of the Act and the Regulations for the reasons explained below. Please note that only the grounds that are checked off apply to the refusal of your application.
1. You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:

travel history
Family ties in Canada and in country of residence

I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.

Please Bryanna help me how should I go about now So much of my time is already wasted in this long processing time

1. Do post the complete list of documents which you had submitted

2. Was the University of Toronto paying for any part of your visit/stay?

3. Do you have family in Canada? If you have family in Pakistan, are they dependent on you financially or for their well-being?

4. Have you traveled to any other country for a similar purpose/study?

5. Which year of the dentist program are you enrolled in? How long is this degree program?

Hi,

I think one reason for the refusal is probably the conflict in the 'Purpose of visit'. While one one hand, you intended to visit for the 2-weeks elective, on the other hand, your uncle also issued an invitation letter.

1. Are you planning to reapply?

2. If you reapply, will you be able to attend the 2 weeks elective? Or when is the next schedule that you will be allowed to attend? And would you still be in your third year or final year for this?

Thankyou so much Bryanna for taking out time to reply!

I do plan on reapplying but for next summers i.e. for June 2018. By that time I will be in my final year of the program since this session ends in December 2017.

I can also apply for winters i.e. for December 2017 and at that time I would still be in my 3rd year.
So whatever increases my chance of actually attending the program I can go with that!

I also wanted to apply to USA during next summers but I'm not sure does my rejection here decrease my chances of getting the US visa approved?
